"The best nail subscription! I'm so happy that Maniology made this happen. I jumped it so fast cause I knew it wasn't going to last. I can't wait till my next box comes in. I'm going to need a nail stamping storage folder for what I have now and will be getting in my future boxes. I'm so excited!!! " - Elizabeth Q.
"Great if you're new to stamping! I've never done stamping before but wanted to try, and this box is great for getting started - even if you don't already have any supplies, you can start stamping with just what's in the box! The plates are super cute and I can't wait to see next month's!" - Brynne N.
"So adorable! As soon as the email announcement of a monthly box hit my inbox, I ordered the 6 month plan. I LOVE it! Lots of goodies and the plates were absolutely adorable. I've also been meaning to try out the ice cube style stamper so it was great to have it included! I can't wait for my next box. Also, had some troubles with rewards stamps and customer service was really awesome and fixed me right up. Great company!" - Amber S.
- stamping plates
I subscribed to the box for a few months. Every month it seemed like it took longer and longer for the box to arrive, which is probably just my perception, so don't base that previous statement on whether or not you want to subscribe to this. I love the idea of having stuff no one else has, so the exclusivity of the two plates was very appealing. After **at least** five month's worth of boxes, I decided to unsubscribe. Here's why: I love the polishes, but I could buy them on my own when I want a new color. Getting colors in the mail every month did make me happy, like it was my birthday and I forgot I bought myself something. I'm not very experienced with nail stickers and decals, and I'm sure they have their uses, but I'm pretty sure they were sent with all but one box as the free gift -- and if I'm going to use stickers and decals, why am I stamping? The plates are always a mystery, and I kind of like that they don't follow the traditional themes. For example, the February box was about Kirigami -- and given that the company is based in Hawaii, I'm sure they have strong cultural ties to Japan and other Asian countries still. (Never been to Hawaii, or really looked into their culture that much outside of what kids' movies I watch.) I felt like it was an un-traditional nod to Chinese New Year... which this year was February 5th, and my box arrived February 12th. Mostly though, the plates are geometric patterns/modern styles/ etc. along those lines. I'm really not into that, and that was the part that made me unsubscribe. The Feb plates, however, made me want to subscribe again until I remembered that there were 3/5 months where geometric/modern was the thing. Boxes with themes for the month do seem to arrive too late in the month for me to get the most use out of them. Considering that most of us get our boxes mid-month, it would be nice to have a theme for the upcoming month. So for example, March's box be all about April and related things so we can plan our manis and have fun looking forward to the new month instead of looking back at a month already half over. Overall, $25 for two plates, two polishes and a throwaway item isn't bad, the predominantly modern designs are just not for me. I'm more of a fantasy/boho style kind of girl.
This is my first box and I am very pleased. I haven't used the items yet for a mani but I have played with the polishes and plates and they both work well. The plates are cute and have designs I will get use out of. The polishes work well and I am very happy that I can use the polishes both as regular polish and stamping polish. The holo stickers are not really something I would typically use, but I might give them a go! I love the scraper, is easy to handle and scrapes well. The stamper on the other hand I struggled with. I have been doing stamping for many, many years and have several different types of stampers. I tried this straight out of the package with the plates and polishes included in the box. The stamper worked well for a few deeply etched designs, but would only partially pick up on the majority of the designs. I then cleaned the stamper with dish soap (as indicated) and then went over it with a link roller, but same result. Images partially picked up. I then used one of my favorite stampers with the same polish and plate and the images picked up perfectly. Overall I am extremely happy with this box and can't wait for next months!!
Late January Mani X Me Box Review
Soooo....it took me a little while to come up with a design because this is typically a plate I wouldn't have selected on my own. But I was very pleased with my end results and having this subscription box forces a different level of creativity for me. Looking forward to creating with the February box!
February was Disappointing
February just missed the mark. It's the month of love! I just expected red I guess. Two blues back to back. The plates are not my style at all, which is fine. That's par for the course when doing a blind purchase. I just have loved everything until this month. I have one more delivery next month and then after that I think I'm done with this. I really enjoyed Oct-Dec and all of a sudden it's just kind of "blah".
I love this subscription box. The stamping plates are awesome and I enjoy the unique colors of the stamping polishes. The gummy candies are a yummy treat!
